Philosophy & Qualifications

I am an integrationist therapist, meaning that I have been trained over thirty-five years in a variety of therapeutic modalities and I believe that a therapist should adapt the treatment to the patient, not the patient to the treatment. I also believe that people want solutions to their problem situations and emotional pain. My approach is always problem oriented and solution focused. I have expertise in cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as psychodynamic, insight-oriented therapy. I firmly believe that affects (technical name for feelings) are our main motivational system and that affect identification and appropriate affect expression are integral parts of a successful psychotherapy.

I take my work very seriously and I enjoy it immensely. You will get the best that I have to offer.
